WOW She Did It!! Rachel Runs Yorkshire 10 mile and Raises over £1000 for FCS Charity of the Year

October 15, 2018

Rachel Fletcher, Managing Director, is a keen runner, but this was the first time she’d run such a distance and she was really pleased to have raised £1,400 smashing her £1,000 target for FCS 2018 Charity of the Year, Changing Faces.

“It was a fantastic event which I really enjoyed despite the heavy rain.  I am thrilled to have completed it and to have the opportunity to raise so much money for Changing Faces.  I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated”. said Rachel.

Rachel’s Just giving page is still open so if you would like to contribute towards this very worthy cause and help us raise even more, please take a moment to donate.

Changing Faces supports and advocates for people with a disfigurement to their face or body from any cause helping them find a way to live the lives they want to lead.

From its Sheffield base it helps support children, young people and their families affected by a visible difference by offering psycho-social support. Children and young people with conditions, marks or scarring that make their body look or function unusually are exposed to medical, psychological and social challenges which make them liable to be disadvantaged. As such they are vulnerable to low self-esteem and confidence, isolation and exclusion, anxiety and depression.

At FCS we are looking forward to supporting Changing Faces to access new grant funding streams that will help them to further embed their excellent service and provide opportunities to explore new ways to support children, young people and their families on-line.
