SY Police and Crime Commissioner’s Grant
The South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) Community Grant Scheme has been amended to offer support to communities and organisations that are affected by the Covid-19 situation.
The Community Grant Scheme provides funding of up to £7,500 to South Yorkshire groups and projects that align to the PCC’s Police and Crime Plan priorities. These are: to protect vulnerable people, tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and treat people fairly.
Over the last 12 months (up to 31 March) 30 groups received a total of £124,810 to provide activities and services to help keep people away from crime and support vulnerable people and victims.
In light of the current situation the scheme has temporarily been adapted to focus on providing funding of up to £5,000 to help sustain the delivery of crucial community projects that support vulnerable people. Applications must meet one of the following criteria:
- Provide help for victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse;
- Provide help and support for young people at increased risks of abuse, poverty or offending as a result of school closures; or
- Assist with community cohesion, prevent crime and anti-social behaviour and reduce demands on our emergency services
