Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire: Business Grants

Business Grants Scheme now available to develop Visitor Economy Derbyshire-based businesses.

Following the success of the ‘Growing and Developing the Visitor Economy within Derbyshire’ project (Phase I), Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire has obtained an additional £1.2 million extension of funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Phase II will extend our current business support programme until March 2022 (subject to availability of funding) .

Grants of £1,000 to £10,000* are available and businesses applying for the funding must meet the following criteria; be part of the visitor economy, located in Derbyshire, have less than 250 employees, have been trading for more than 12 months and have a business bank account.

The desired outcomes of the grants programme will be job creation (and safeguarding of jobs) and to support visitor economy businesses to grow and develop by accessing new markets.

Businesses will need to demonstrate how the grant funding will help them to become more competitive and support the area’s wider visitor economy.

This grant is limited and will support up to 50% of the costs of towards a digital upgrade of your business as well as improving accessibility and cycle facilities.

Grants are available for Visitor Economy Businesses under the following categories:-

  • Accessibility – refers to the use of products and services by people with disabilities. (Installation of accessible equipment, accessible bathroom equipment and virtual accessibility tours).
  • Cycling – (secure cycle storage, cleaning and repair equipment and facilities).
  • Digital upgrade/COVID-19 recovery digitalisation to enhance online payment and booking facilities.

* Applicants will receive a 50% grant towards to the cost of the overall project (with a minimum 50% grant contribution being £1000 and the maximum £10,000). Minimum project expenditure £2,000.
