Horizon Europe Missions: 2022 Funding Calls

The Horizon Europe 2021-2022 Missions Work Programme has recently been updated and now includes the 2022 call topics.

One of the novelties of the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme is that it includes funding for five ‘Missions’:

  • Adaptation to Climate Change: support at least 150 European regions and communities to become climate resilient by 2030
  • Cancer: working with Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan to improve the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030 through prevention, cure and solutions to live longer and better
  • Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030
  • 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030
  • A Soil Deal for Europe: 100 living labs and lighthouses to lead the transition towards healthy soils by 2030.

A Mission is a portfolio of activities across different disciplines intended to achieve a bold, inspirational and measurable goal within a set time-frame, with impact for society and policy making, as well as relevance for a significant part of the European population and a wide range of European citizens. Each of the Missions aims to tackle an important goal and deliver concrete results by 2030.

The European Commission is holding EU Mission Infodays on 17 and 18 May 2022 – please note that no registration is required, the sessions will be available to watch from the events webpage.

There will also be a 2022 Mission Calls Virtual Brokerage Event on 19 May 2022 to help potential applicants find partners – registration is already open.
