Hospice UK Invites Applications to Dying Matters Community Grants Programme 2022.

Funding to support innovative and creative arts and culture projects in communities across England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man to make it easier for people to talk about death and dying.

Hospice UK is providing grants to support community-led and culture projects which aim to open up conversations about dying, death and bereavement in new and creative ways at a grassroots level.

Two types of grants are available:

  • Small grants up to £999 to run smaller scale activities such as a one-off workshop of poetry, singing, art, crafting, etc.
  • Larger project grants between £1,000 and £5,000 to enable larger scale community projects such as theatre productions, community murals or photography exhibits.

Registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations (CIO) and community interest companies (CIC) can apply.

Applicants must demonstrate how they will reach one of the following groups as identified in Hospice UK’s recent report Equality in Hospice and End of Life Care:

  • Ethnic minorities.
  • People experiencing homelessness.
  • Imprisoned people.
  • LGBT+ people.
  • People living in remote and rural areas.
  • People living in poverty, deprivation and with lower socioeconomic status.
  • People living with learning disabilities.
