The Company

Brailsford Brothers was established in 1957 and provides bespoke stainless steel products as well as sheet metal work products to a range of customers across all sectors, from Barnsley MBC to Iveco trucks.  Other services include galvanising, laser cutting, powder coating (in house) and on-site installation.

About the support from FCS

FCS Associates were commissioned to provide support and assistance to the senior management team to help them to identify public sector opportunities and to respond through on-line tender portals.

An initial meeting was undertaken with the team at Brailsford Brothers to understand what type of public sector opportunities they were keen to identify and respond to.  Following this a detailed training session was undertaken which considered what information the company needed to compile to be able to respond quickly to a PQQ (Pre-Qualification Questionnaire) or ITT (Invitation to Tender). Templates of CV’s, case studies and policies were all provided so the company could use these examples as a starting point to develop their own material. An action plan of what further material needed to be developed was also compiled ensuring the Brailsford team were clear about the next steps they needed to take.

Support was also given with tender submissions. Brailsford submitted two PQQ’s to Leeds City Council for two frameworks, one focusing on fencing works and a second concentrating on metalworks.  Pre-screening support was provided to help Brailsford understand the procurement process, how to submit through the yortender portal and also to ensure that they were able to provide sufficient detail to answer the questions. The company went on to successfully submit two proposals.
